8th International Serpent User Group Meeting

The 2018 Serpent User Group meeting will be hosted by Aalto University and VTT in Espoo, Finland, from May 29 to June 1. The purpose of the meeting is to gather Serpent users from around the world to present and discuss their work with other users and the developer team. The previous meetings were held in Dresden, Germany (2011); Madrid, Spain (2012); Berkeley, CA, USA (2013); Cambridge, UK (2014); Knoxville, TN, USA (2015); Milan, Italy (2016) and Gainesville, FL, USA (2017). The expected number of participants is 30-40, ranging from undergraduate students to senior professionals.

Program

The meeting starts on Tuesday afternoon with a short welcome session, followed by three days reserved for technical presentations. More information on the technical program will be provided later.

Presentations on all topics are welcome. If you are planning to present your work, please register early and provide the title or a short description on the registration form.

Registration

To register for the meeting, fill in the on-line registration registration form. The registration fee is 100€ (including social dinner), or 60€ (without dinner). The fees are collected to cover the costs for the hosting organization (auditorium, coffee breaks, etc.). Accommodation and lunch breaks are not included in the price.

Location

The meeting takes place at the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi (Otakaari 3). The campus can be accessed by metro from downtown Helsinki (Kamppi or Central Railway Station) in about 15 minutes.

Hotel options

There are a few hotels located within walking distance from the campus area: There is not much to do in Otaniemi during the evenings, so another option is to stay in Helsinki and take the Metro to Otaniemi. There are several hotels with convenient location: When searching for a hotel in Helsinki, use the Metro station in Kamppi as the reference point.

The Serpent developer team is looking forward to seeing you in Finland!
